OVINO Wine & Cider Company

We at OVINO Wine & Cider Company are producing table wines in the traditional southern European style. Our wines are meant for moderate consumption as your every day wine, enjoyed with good food, friends and family. Our wines are fruity and light bodied and slightly lower in alcohol content - Salute!

We also ferment local Hood River grown Apples into Hard Apple Cider, a refreshing alternative to Beer. Hard Cider is still common in parts of Europe (I.E. Cidre Bouche in France or Sagardoa/Sidra in Spain).

What is different at OVINO Wine & Cider?

The re-fillable bottle: We named our the "Wine Growler". The wine jug is designed after the classic Moonshine bottles and has a standard 750 ml capacity same as a regular wine bottle. We ask our customers to keep the bottle clean using only hot water for rinsing, please do NOT use any soap or detergent.

Our Story: On one of our many visits to the fruit and wine growing regions in Northern Italy we have been looking into buying local wine for a family festivity. Traveling through the provinces of Alto Adige and Trentino we arrived in Arco, a small town just north of the Lago di Garda (Lake Garda »), the windsurfing hotspot in Europe. We asked a local where we can buy some good wine and he was sending us to the "Agraria" an agricultural coop operated by the local farmers in town. Walking into the warehouse we could see only farm equipment, hardware and a feed store. Where the heck is the wine? A friendly clerk asked us if we brought our own containers, unfortunately not, but helped us out and offered us a few 10 liter/2.5 gal plastic containers for sale. Then he waved us over to the back of the store where he was handling a garden hose with a nozzle similar to those used at gas stations. He filled our newly purchased tanks for a buck per liter. We looked at each other with dropped jaws and couldn't believe what we just witnessed. An unforgettable experience which inspired us to create OVINO.
